Norway and its residents have not escaped the negative consequences associated with massive spread of ransomware virus infections. These days a virus attacks PCs in this northern country, blocking computers and asking for a ransom to be paid by them in order to unlock infected PCs. There are nowadays two large virus families that share the design of this virus. They’re called Urausy and Reveton. So, these infections use the good name and the logo of Politiet Norge (Avdeling for kampen mot datakriminalitet). The peculiarity of Reveton trojan is that it generally doesn’t block Safe Mode with Networking and some other modes as well, thus allowing users to remove this scam by rebooting the PC into this mode and running scan with reliable security software (antivirus).
